I have been practicing yoga for over 30 years and have been teaching since 2007. I discovered yoga by accident as a teenager and except for timing, may have ended up in India a long time ago! Instead, I found myself in Uxbridge, ON where I completed my 200 Hour certification with Balanced Life Yoga and began teaching, again by accident. I went on to complete my 500 Hour certification with BLY with supplemental training under renowned teachers such as Jennifer Reis, Danny Paradise, Rodney Yee, Cyndi Lee, Dharma Mitra, Deanna Villa, Bhagavan Das, and Krishna Das. It is the sharing of my passion for yoga and observing the visible improvements in peoples' mobility and general well-being that motivates me to pursue a life of teaching and continuous learning.
Yoga is a wonderful wellness practice that is available to any age group and ability. I am experienced in teaching all levels of yoga from Beginner to Advanced, from Gentle to Power, and especially love my Chair Yoga program, making yoga available to those with limited mobility.
I have always been interested in martial arts and am a blackbelt in Tae Kwon Do. My yoga practice was an excellent complement to my martial arts training, preventing me from experiencing many of the injuries suffered by other adults in the dojang.
I am a 500 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher with additional certifications in teaching Pre-Natal Yoga as well as Muscle Activation Techniques. I am trained in Restorative and Yin Yoga. In addition to Yoga, I am also a Reiki practitioner and have studied Buddhist Meditation. I also offer Thai Yoga Massage. I am a certified Divine Sleep Yoga Nidra Guide. Currently, I am exploring the many benefits of chanting as a method of purification of the heart and mind -- it is a continuous unfolding :)
